Oh I used to love a good crossword, but it’s a bit tricky now holding the pen – bloomin’ arthritis. Can’t really get out of the house these days, so I’m stuck in the living room – oh, this wallpaper…still, I’ve got the telly, I just like the chatter, you know, a bit of company. The kids live so far away.

I don’t have any children. It can be no fun, being lonely. The good news is, that Age UK say if you can afford £3 a month, they can really help the one million older people who are lonely in this country. Get them out of the house a bit, support those in poverty. Or just give them a friend, to talk to. It’s simple really.
