Skydive, knit, run, organise or participate in a fundraising event for Age UK Barnet.

Fundraising for us is a great way of bringing friends, family and neighbours together, as well as help vulnerable older people who are lonely and isolated and in need of our services. These are people in your area, across the road, maybe even next door.

You might like to organise a coffee morning, sponsored dog walk or kids picnic, get a swear box on the go in the office or get people to sponsor you to stop eating chocolate for a week.

Or maybe you could sell something on eBay and give us the proceeds, or take part in a run and get your friends and family to sponsor you.

If you're a business maybe you could organise a staff pub quiz, darts tournament or football match, with £5 to enter and that money going to us. Could you match fund what's raised?

Whatever you choose to do, we can help market your event across our social media and on our website.

We are a standalone charity and every penny we need for our services we have to raise ourselves. While Age UK is the national campaigning organisation, we are the boots on the ground actually delivering services to older vulnerable people in Barnet.

We rely heavily on the goodwill and support of local people and the business community to help us do that and greatly value every donation we receive.

Our Community Fundraiser Suzy Barber would love to hear from you and can help you with ideas, no matter how small. Every penny really does help. You can email Suzy or call her on 07712 885974

The Big Knit 2017

For over 10 years people have kindly knitted and donated thousands of little hats for Age UK Barnet raising money through the national Big Knit campaign. The hats are worn by little bottles of innocent drinks which go on sale in stores around the country in November. For each hat that we send off, Age UK Barnet gets 25p from Innocent Drinks.

Details of the Big Knit 2016 will be up later this year.

Skydive to fundraise for Age UK Barnet

Fancy a challenge or know someone who needs one? Age UK Barnet has the perfect opportunity…Skydiving!
Just imagine standing at an open doorway 10,000 feet from the ground; the rush of adrenaline as you lean forwards out of the aircraft and experience a freefall at over 120mph! Then, the canopy opens and you glide through the sky, absorbing the tranquil atmosphere surrounding you.

The great news is you jump for free.  All you have to do is raise a minimum amount of sponsorship of which Age UK Barnet receives an average donation of £135. You can choose from:-

  • A tandem skydive with an instructor £395
  • “Static Line” solo jump £360
  • Accelerated freefall solo jump £535
