Apna Ghar — 'our home'
Daycare is provided at our Apna Ghar centre from Monday to Friday for physically or mentally frail older people from the local Asian Heritage communities.
The centre has been designed to cater for specific cultural and religious needs and has a prayer room. Apna Ghar is located within Bangor Street Community Centre.
A freshly cooked halal or vegetarian meal is provided at lunchtime made from food stocks purchased from local reputable halal suppliers.
In addition to personal care services such as bathing, a range of social and therapeutic activities including traditional games, music and Asian films are on offer.
Access to the services provided at Apna Ghar is through a referral from Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council's Adult Services Department following an assessment of need.
