What is the Foot Care Service?
Age UK Blackburn with Darwen and the local health service are working together to provide a basic foot care service for people over 50 who are not eligible for NHS Podiatry Service and are unable to manage their own foot care.
We offer an affordbale toe nail cutting service, together with a relaxing foot care treatment.
Certain health conditions and medication may preclude you from using this service.
How does the Foot Care Service work?
Anyone wishing to use the service will initially need to be assessed by an NHS Podiatrist. Once you have been assessed as suitable for the service an appointment will be arranged for you at a foot care clinic convienient to you.
At your first visit you will need to purchase you own personal nail care kit. This will be supplied to you in a clear wallet and will be used each time you attend for an appointment.
What is the cost?
- Foot Care kit (one off purchase) £7
- Toe nail clipping & foot care treatment £11
(prices correct April 2017 and may be subject to change)
Foot Care clinics are currently held at:
