Toenail Cutting to help people remain mobile and active. The service is available to residents living in the Borough of Bromley and Greenwich, who require a simple toenail cutting service.

First Appointment - £25

Unfortunately, we can no longer make home visits. Our clinics are held in a variety of different clinic settings in both Bromley and Greenwich. There will be a little bit of paperwork to do when a new client arrives, and they will receive a set of sterile tools which will be theirs to keep. A first appointment will include a simple assessment of the client’s feet by our assistant, and then subject to this assessment they will receive appropriate treatment. This appointment should take up to 30 minutes. Payment can be made by bank card or cash.

Follow up appointments - £20

For hygiene reasons clients should bring their personal set of tools to any follow-up appointments they attend. These appointments should take approximately 15-20 minutes and it should be unnecessary to do anymore paperwork unless there is a specific need.
Our assistants can trim a client’s fingernails for a small additional charge of £5. Payment can be made by bank card or cash.

Our Clip-it Assistants

To be clear, our Clip-it Assistants are not Podiatrists. They have been well trained by Bromley Primary Care Trust Podiatry Service in basic toenail cutting and filing. Our Clip-it Assistant’s also receive accredited Continuous Professional Development (CPD) training in nail care awareness from a certified provider.
Our Clip-it Assistants are able to identify some common foot health conditions, but they are not qualified to treat them all. In such cases, our Clip-it Assistants will be able to provide guidance and we can signpost clients to services that may be able to treat them if necessary.

Registration

We have a short set of questions that we ask clients who wish to register. Some are about the client and some are about their health and any medication they may be taking. We need to know some personal details about our clients, and gain consent to store their details in line with our data protection policy and GDPR regulations.

There are also some moderate-to-complex health conditions and medication that may affect the circulation or feeling in a person’s limbs, or their body’s resistance to infection. If a person suffers from any of these conditions or takes this type of medication, we regret that we may not be able to treat them. We will seek consent to approach their GP to discuss if we have any doubts.

Diabetes

Clients with diabetes are at greater risk of problems with their foot health. Raised blood glucose levels increase the chances of circulation problems, potentially leading to a loss of sensation and a higher possibility of problems healing from cuts and sores.

For this reason we can only treat those with low-to-moderate risk diabetes. Prospective clients who have diabetes will need to grant us permission to send a form to their GP so that we can confirm it is safe and permissible to treat them.

If We Cant Help

In the event we are unable to treat you, we can put you in touch with a Podiatrist who is registered with the Royal College of Podiatry or the Health Professional Council.
