First Contact Officer

Part time – 15 hours per week, spread over 3 days of 5 hours each.

Salary - £6,616 (FTE £16,320)

Based at our Aylesbury offices.

Would you like to join our team providing the first point of contact for all enquiries into Age UK Buckinghamshire?

The First Contact Team welcomes applications from individuals who are confident in talking over the telephone to older people, their carers and all other callers. The role is to be the first point of contact for all callers and to provide information, advice and signposting as requested. If successful you will be expected to maintain computer records and input to the client database. You will be working as part of a team and must be able to respond to working under pressure at times when there are a large volume of calls. Full training will be provided and DBS checks will be carried out.

The post will be based at the Age UK Buckinghamshire offices in Meadowcroft in Aylesbury but there will be occasions when the successful applicant may be expected to attend information giving events with other team members which could be anywhere across the county.

Home Helpers (Freelance Agents)

We are looking for local people to do cleaning and ironing for older people in their homes.  When older people no longer find it easy to do housework, Age UK Buckinghamshire will provide friendly, competent cleaners as regularly as they wish.

You will be a freelance agent, make your own appointments directly with older people and will be responsible for your own costs, including transport.  You will be Disclosure and Barring Scheme (DBS), formerly Criminal Record Bureau, checked and need to provide references.

Freelance Hairdressing Agents

We are looking for local people to provide hairdressing for older people in their homes.  When older people are unable to visit salons or prefer hairdressing at home, Age UK Buckinghamshire will provide friendly, competent hairdressers as regularly as they wish.

You will be a freelance agent, make your own appointments directly with older people and be responsible for your own costs, including transport. You will be CRB checked and need to provide references.

Our hairdressing service is a mobile service providing a wide range of treatments, reasonably priced and adapted to meet the needs of older people and provided throughout the county.
