Community Services

Find out about our services in the community. For more information about any of our services, please contact us using the details below.

Our friendly volunteer visitors help older people regain confidence

and take part in community activities.

This service is only available in Calderdale at this time.

Volunteers take their pets to visit lonely older people.

Reminiscence Groups

RAYS Group at Bankfield Museum

In Calderdale we have a Reminisce As You Speak (RAYS) group who meet up regularly at Halifax Central Library. It is a social group for older people to attend and helps to keep people active and engaged. They reminisce about a variety of topics and go on outings like this one to the Bankfield Musuem.

To find out more about this or to join the group, contact Christine Henry at the Choice Centre on 01422 399830.

Home Safety Project

Our project offers home safety advice and promotes energy efficiency. We work to protect older people from crime and reduce the fear of crime, in partnership with other groups including the Home Safety Forum.

This service is only available in Calderdale at this time.

In the communitySafe and Warm

This service offers energy advice and help with grants to older people.
