What is Brampton Dial-A-Ride?
The Brampton Dial-A-Ride is a door to door service which operates in and around the North Cumbrian Market Town of Brampton on a Wednesday (market day) morning. Our cars collect people from their homes and take them in to Brampton, or wherever they wish to go in the area, before taking them home again later. It is operated by a team of volunteers using their own vehicles.
How do you book a lift?
Simply call our Carlisle office on 01228 536 673. Our admin team will then take down your details and book the car for you.
What area is covered by Brampton Dial-A-Ride?
We cover a 4 mile radius from Brampton town centre. This stretches from Walton in the North to Faugh in the South and from Irthington in the West to Tindale Fell in the East. However if you are in any doubt as to whether you are within the area just call our office where we will be able to help.
How much does it cost?
The cost of each journey is 50p - ie. £1 for a day return.
Where do I get dropped off and picked up?
Passengers can be dropped off and collected anywhere they want within the area.
What if I want to walk into town and get a lift back?
Simply tell the admin staff when you book that you only want a lift one way.
What can I use the service for?
You can book a Dial-A-Ride car for any purpose you wish - doctors or dentist appointments, shopping, visiting friends or simply going into town for a cup of tea and a chat.
