Introduction
Age UK Carlisle and Eden’s Day Care and clubs offer an all important day out for older people – an opportunity to meet and make new friends, enjoy the company of others and take part in a variety of activities.
We believe that our centres provide a safe and stimulating environment for our members and give many carers with an invaluable period of regular respite. Our aim is to enable older people to improve their quality of life and to help them maintain their independence and continue living in their own homes for as long as possible. We cater for all interests at our clubs and offer a wide range of activities and opportunities.
In Carlisle our ‘Flexi’ service offers one-to-one support – either in individual’s home or providing them with the opportunity of an accompanied outing.
Our centres and clubs are located throughout the districts of Carlisle and Eden. Some are provided on contract to Adult Social Care and those attending come to us via them. Our Centres are managed and run by staff and volunteers. We are always pleased to welcome new volunteers to assist in our Centres. If you are interested and would like to know more about what this would involve please visit our volunteering page.

Bathing Service
As part of our provision at The Riverside Building in Appleby we are now offering a bathing service (with a trained member of staff) to people in the locality who do not have access to a bath or are unable to safely bath alone.
The cost of the bathing service is £8 payable on the day.
We want your visit to be a relaxing and enjoyable experience. Refreshments will always be available and lunch if required at an extra charge of £2.
Unfortunately we are unable to provide transport but we can arrange this with a local taxi firm. Perhaps a relative of friend could drive you to The Riverside Building.
