Position: Independent Living Advisor

Salary: £14,336 pa (30 hours per week)


The Independent Living Service is provided for people aged 65 and over in Cheshire.  The role of Independent Living Advisor will be part of a team responsible for delivering this service across Cheshire. The job holder will provide information, advice and technical assistance to individuals wishing to receive a personalised budget; develop support plans; support service users to make choices about the support they require within their budget and if required arrange the care on their behalf.


We are currently looking to recruit for a role to join our team to work alongside other Advisors, based at our Northwich office.  Visits will predominantly cover the Cheshire West and Chester area with other visits within Cheshire boundaries as required.


This post is based on working 30 hours a week Monday to Thursday.

Independent Living Advisor - Job description




Position: Home Assessor, Supporting You team 

Salary: £10,292 pa (for 21.75 hours)


Our Supporting You project was established in 2004 and seeks to enable older people, living in their own home, to find the help they perceive they need, to live in the way they wish, thereby reducing the need for earlier higher level health and social care services, including admissions into hospital/residential services.

Staff are based in Chester, Hartford and Crewe and consist of a Supporting You Senior Co-ordinator, Home Assessors and Support Officers.

The aim of the project is:-

• to work with the client to make an assessment of their needs
• to encourage and enable the client to access services available in their area
• to provide all relevant information and support to assist the client to achieve the desired outcome
• to assess and monitor the health and wellbeing of the client
• to evaluate quality and suitability of services

We currently have a vacancy for a 21.75 hr Home Assessor post which will be based at Age UK Cheshire’s Hartford office in Northwich with home visiting in the areas of Cheshire East and Cheshire West and Chester.
