Women in Sheds is a 6-month pilot project, run by Age UK Cheshire, which launched in January 2017 and is based on the same model as that of Men in Sheds.

Women in Sheds is aimed at women over the age of 50 who are interested in learning and sharing new skills within a traditional shed/workshop environment.

The shed offers a warm and inviting facility where you can enjoy making crafts such as wooden bird boxes, ornaments, small pieces of furniture, acrylic pens and much, much more or you can simply just pop along for a cup of tea and a biscuit to get out of the house.

Activities on offer at the shed are exactly the same as at Men in Sheds and currently include; woodworking, woodturning, pen making, community projects, seasonal projects, computer sessions and model railways. However, if there is a lot of interest for a specific activity not already offered, this will be considered too.

There will always be volunteers and a co-ordinator on hand to offer help and advice with any activity you might wish to undertake, so need to worry if it seems like unfamiliar territory.

Currently the pilot is only operating in the Hartford shed.

Women in Sheds is open every Friday from 10am - 4pm.  The cost is just £2.50 per month.
