Human Rights Convention Event

A joint conference with Age International and Age UK. This issue is a global one but marks the first time that we have created a conference on it for a UK audience.

• Bring this global debate to the UK
• Strengthen constituency of support in the UK
• Demonstrate the Government’s engagement in this area

Safeguarding older people & domestic abuse

Monday 17 June, Tavis House, London

Age UK held a free safeguarding event looking at the impact of domestic abuse on people over the age of 50.

The impact of housing inequality on older people 

Thursday 13 June, 10pm - 3pm, Tavis House, London

In association with the Joseph Rowntree Foundation and the Housing and Ageing Alliance, Age UK ran a free one day seminar, covering the following issues: 

  • - Patterns of housing inequality among older people
  • - Issues arising for low income homeowners – the ‘Right to Buy’ generation
  • - Gaining access to affordable retirement housing
  • - The financial implications of the shift to private rented accommodation for future generations

Health and care exhibition 2013
