There are currently over 400 Age UK shops across the country that are run by paid staff and volunteers, each doing a valuable job which is rewarding and challenging.
There are five charity shops in County Durham. These are in Durham City, Consett, Barnard Castle and two shops in Chester le Street.
All money raised from these shops goes towards older people’s needs nationally.
Age UK County Durham are developing their own shops that will raise vital funds to enable us to continue our valuable work amongst the older people in County Durham.
In order for us to do this we are relying on your generosity in donating your unwanted items. We are collecting
Furniture and white goods
Books and bric a brac
Clothing and accessories
Games and DVDs
Other miscellaneous items
Donated goods may be brought to our offices at Age UK House, Belmont Business Park, Durham DH1 1TW or you can phone 0191 374 6575 to request a collection for bulky goods.
You may also be able to help us by volunteering to work in one of our new shops or warehouses. Please contact us on 0191 374 6575 to find out more information and how to apply.
