Craft & computer centre
There are so many things you can get involved in at our craft and computer centre for the over 50s in Earlsdon.
What goes on at the Gilbert Richards Centre?
At the centre you can
- take up a new hobby, such as pottery, silk-painting or spinning
- share your skills with others in a craft group, like quilting, beading or knitting
- learn woodwork
- join an art class
- start to use a computer and surf the internet
- enjoy stimulating conversation
- meet new people
- hire a wheelchair
We work to suit you by having groups led by voulnteers as well as groups led by private tutors.
Volunteer-led groups
You can join a group that is informal and has the chance to meet people interested in the same things as you.
These small groups are ‘self-help’ and you can learn a craft or how to use a computer, with a chat and a cup of tea and the support of a skilled volunteer.
Private tutor-led sessions
You might prefer to learn a new skill or renew an existing skill in a more formal, structured setting. If this is the case, these tutor led sessions in ceramics, sculpturing, painting in oils or water colours or art might be the class for you.
These activities range in timings and have different prices so its best to contact the centre below to find out the individual costs.
