Friendship groups
As we get older, we may find we have more time on our hands, just as everyone else seems to be busier.
It may be physically more difficult to get out and about and sometimes the less we go out to socialise, the harder it is to start all over again.
We have a number of volunteer-supported schemes open to anyone over 50 and we always welcome newcomers.
We will help you to meet new people, join in with social activities and establish friendships.
Friendship groups
We meet regularly across the city for friendship, entertainment and good company. One of our friendly volunteers can accompany you the first time or greet you at the door.
Please do drop in – there is always a particularly warm welcome for anyone new.

We are always looking to set up new groups and clubs where there is a demand, if there isn’t one in your area, please let us know.
How much does it cost?
Friendship groups have a club fee of between £1 and £3 per session. You pay each time you attend.
This cost generally includes light refreshments and sometimes entertainment and a raffle.
For lunch clubs prices, please telephone Claire on 024 764 33980 for more information.
Comments from some of our friendship group users

'The club is brilliant – it gets me out to meet people, and we are looked after very well by our volunteer hostesses.'
