Computer Training

computer training for all levels of abilityOur courses are the ideal place for you to learn computer skills. You would gain confidence in using a computer, whether it be for personal or work use. Our syllabus is carefully designed to be flexible and to suit your needs. The courses are tailor-made for older people and you will be taught at your own pace of learning.

You can ask for clarification on a particular area whenever you need it. There are not usually more than two trainees at any one time with the Trainer. We are able to offer 6-week Computer Training Courses at Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced levels.

Once you have had some training, you are welcome to book in to use the computers most days so that you can practice, send emails or surf the Internet at your leisure. There will always be a trained volunteer IT Trainer available to provide any help that you may require.

Who are the courses for?

The courses are available for any person living within the London Borough of Croydon.

How long does the course last?

The training is once a week for an hour. The course lasts six weeks. At the end of the six-week course you can register for further training if required or you can use the computer suite to practice at various times throughout the week.

How much does it cost?

Each course of six weeks costs £42 including VAT. The charge to use our computers other than on courses is £2.00 an hour. Computers are available for this purpose most Tuesdays 2pm to 4pm (please ring in beforehand to check). A small charge for printing applies.

Why not train with a friend?

If you would like to train with a friend or two, please mention this at the time of booking.

Where are the courses held?

The courses are held in our purpose built Computer Training Suite at our West Croydon office. The Training Suite is accessible via a short staircase for which a chairlift is available. Note that we are unable to provide training in your own home; however our Tradespersons Register, available at Reception, includes details of approved trainers who may be able to undertake home visits.
