Volunteering

Why volunteer?

There are many reasons why people decide to become a volunteer for many people it can be for social benefits such as:

  • chance to socialise
  • making new friends
  • getting to know the local community.

For many others it may be to:

Gain work experience and new skills, enhance a CV, improve employment options, feel part of a team, help you to gain confidence and self-esteem, make a difference in other people’s lives, continue working in retirement, or simply out of boredom.

Volunteering opportunities can range from

Working in the charity shop, helping out on stalls and at open days, taking people out for a tea or coffee, visiting people in their homes, call someone on the phone for a chat, help out in lunch clubs or day centres, street collections, going out in the van with other staff members to collect donations and much more!

Don’t worry if you are unable to do some of the tasks, each of us are individuals and we will make adjustments to suit your needs.
