More than 50 per cent of people over 60 will be affected by some type of hearing loss. Most people, who experience hearing loss as they get older, do so due to a condition called presbyacusis.


Parkinson's disease

Still with its causes unknown Parkinson's is a disease of the brain and central nervous system. It progresses over time and affects movement such as walking, talking and writing.

Flu/Swine flu

 

The UK experienced a second wave of swine flu, which hopefully has passed but we still must be vigilant as many older people may also have conditions that make them more vulnerable to becoming seriously ill if they contract swine flu.
