31 October NHS continuing care deadline

Published on 23 October 2015 09:30 AM

The Welsh Government has set a 31 October deadline for anyone wanting to make a claim for NHS continuing healthcare fees they may have paid between 1 August 2013 and 30 September 2014.

The NHS can be responsible for paying continuing healthcare costs for people with ‘complex' care needs or whose care needs are mainly due to their health.

This care can be provided in people's own homes or in a care home.

People who have paid for their own care between 1 August 2013 and 30 September 2014, but believe that this should have been funded by the NHS in Wales, now have until 31 October to contact their local health board to try to claim that money back.

If you want more information about NHS continung health care and this deadline, please contact Age Cymru Advice on 08000 223 444 for free and impartial advice.
