Age Cymru Awards 2013 winners

Congratulations to the winners of the Age Cymru Awards 2013!

Six winners picked up the five awards on Friday at our Gala Dinner and Awards Ceremony which was hosted by Arfon Haines Davies.

The Age Cymru Gwanwyn Award, sponsored by Computer World Wales, was won by Steve Morris of the Brecon U3A Family History Group.

There were two winners for the Age Cymru My Home Life Cymru Award, which was sponsored by Broomfield Alexander.

Des Davies of Hengoed Court Care Home in Swansea, and the Activity Girls - Navina, Lisa and Jenny, from Sŵn y Môr Care Home in Port Talbot, were joint winners of this award.

The Age Cymru Active Ageing Award, sponsored Western Power Distribution, was won by John Jones who is an Age Cymru Nordic Walking volunteer.

The Age Cymru Campaigner of the Year Award, sponsored by Ageas UK, was won by Lisa Morgan from Hugh James Solicitors in Cardiff.

The Age Cymru Local Delivery Award, sponsored by Wales & West Utilities, was won by the Robins Ward Volunteer Service at Age Cymru Gwent.

Age Cymru's Chief Executive Ian Thomas, says:

"Congratulations to the winners of this year's Age Cymru Awards.

"There are individuals and organisations in communities right across Wales who are making a difference for older people every day.

"Many don't get the credit they deserve, but with our awards, Age Cymru is doing our bit to recognise some of these unsung heroes."
