Age Cymru Enterprises shop

Cardiff and Vale of Glamorgan over-50s can now buy anything from car, travel and home insurance to funeral plans and personal alarms from a new shop in the capital.

The Age Cymru Enterprises shop is at 58 Merthyr Road in Whitchurch, Cardiff and it sells tailor-made products for over 50s.

Although the shop is not having its official launch until 5 October, it has been open for business since August as Age Cymru's Development Manager, George Burke explains:

"We opened the shop over the summer to provide over-50s in Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan with products and services such as pre-paid funeral plans and our annuity service. 

"Since we've been trading from 58 Merthyr Road, it's been a very busy time and in that time I've been very impressed by the hard work dedication of our staff members, Lorna and Sarah.

"Since April 1, we were in temporary offices on Cathedral Road and we are delighted to move into this permanent home for our services in Whitchurch.

"Lorna and Sarah can tell you about the different services offered by Age Cymru Enterprises, and - if you ask them nicely, they'll even make you a cup of tea."

The Age Cymru Enterprises shop will provide the following goods and services:

• Home insurance;
• Gas and electricity;
• Personal alarms;
• Funeral plans;
• Will and legacies services;
•  Annuity service;
• Equity release;

George Burke says:

"We will soon be expanding the range of services we provide from the shop to include information and advice for over-50s.
