Cold weather advice for older people

Published on 20 November 2015 02:30 PM

"Keep warm, keep safe and keep well during the cold weather" - that's the message today for older people across Wales ahead of a spell of cold weather that's forecast for the weekend.

We've teamed up with the Welsh Government Warm Homes Nest scheme which aims to make Welsh homes warmer and more energy-efficient, to publish a winter tips guide.

‘Winter wrapped up: a guide to keeping warm, safe and well this winter' - is available from Age Cymru offices and shops.

"Winter isn't everyone's favourite season", says our Spread the Warmth campaign co-ordinator, Angharad Phillips.

"But with a little preparation, and by following some simple suggestions, we can help ourselves and our loved ones stay healthy, safe and as comfortable as possible this winter", adds Angharad.

"The ‘Winter wrapped up' guide we have produced with Nest is full of useful information that will help older people to keep warm, safe and well this winter.

"Pick up your copy today from your local Age Cymru office or shop".

‘Winter wrapped up: a guide to keeping warm, safe and well this winter' is available from Age Cymru shops and offices across Wales and by contacting Age Cymru Advice on 08000 223 444.
