Council Tax in Wales

Council Tax in Wales is a new factsheet from Age Cymru.

It gives you an outline of the most important aspects of the Council Tax system in Wales for people aged 60 and over.

This informative guide covers a range of issues, including property bands;  who has to pay council tax; exemptions and unoccupied properties; sheltered housing; ‘granny annexes’, and Council Tax Benefit.

The guide also looks at issues such as paying Council Tax; penalties for non-payment; appeals, and it contains contact details for useful organisations such as the Benefit Enquiry Line, Citizens Advice Bureau and the Valuation Office.

Written by our resident team of information and advice experts specifically for older people, this is a must-have publication.
