A new magazine for over-50s, which includes a financial advice column from Age Cymru, has been launched.

'Freedom’ -  will be jam-packed with news and features for older readers living in south, east and west Wales.

The first issue (out from June 26) will include financial advice from experts at Age Cymru, an interview with Jennie Bond, must-have fashion for a weekend away and tips for taking a ‘mature gap year’, plus much more.

Freedom can be found at hundreds of outlets or can be viewed online.

Deputy Editor of Freedom, Vicky Ferda, says:

“We felt that mature readers had been neglected for far too long by the publishing industry here in Wales, so looked to change that with Freedom.
“Our motto is ‘Live life to the full’ - and that’s exactly how we want our readers to view their ‘mature’ years.

"Age, after all, is just a number, and it needn’t slow you down. Freedom will be sometimes serious, sometimes light-hearted - but will always be informative and entertaining.”

With a quarter of the population in Wales due to be 65 or over by 2030 (exceeding the rest of the UK by 3%) Freedom will be the only independent, local magazine catering exclusively for this readership in Wales.
