Good luck to our Virgin London Marathon runners

Published on 17 April 2013 11:00 AM

Age Cymru is proud and honoured to have eight brave runners competing in this year's Virgin London Marathon.

From all the team at Age Cymru's head offices we wish our runners from Wales the very best of luck.

Along with hundreds of runners from our partners in the Age UK network our team of eight will be running the 26 mile race this Sunday morning (21 April) to help raise money for our country's older people.

Richard Nicholls, Age Cymru's Director of Income Resources says:

"Good luck to our heroes Paul Nash, Mark Allen, Sue Chichlowska, Vanessa Burholt, Darryl Thomas, Mark Brooks, Mike Howell and Craig Burrows.

"We're privileged to have you involved and the hard work and commitment you've shown in preparing yourself to run the Virgin London Marathon for Age Cymru has been immense.

"We're also grateful to our staff and volunteers who will be there cheering you on throughout the day.

"Running is a fantastic way to challenge yourself and raise money and if any other supporters are inspired by the efforts of our marathon heroes why not think about taking part in the Lloyds TSB Cardiff Half Marathon 2013 in October?

"We're acutely aware of the recent events in Boston and anyone wishing to receive direct updates on security at the London Marathon should refer directly to the marathon website".
