A South Wales law firm has been raising money for older people's charity Age Cymru with a sponsored walk with a difference across Cardiff Bay Barrage.

Staff from Hugh James, took part in a Nordic walking fundraiser on 10 June to raise money for Age Cymru.

Says Rob Taylor, Chief Executive of Age Cymru:

"Hugh James has helped raise vital funds for a number of our charity's projects through various fundraising events since we started working together six months ago.

"We are very grateful to the people who gave up their time to raise funds for Age Cymru with the Nordic walk, which took place along the Cardiff Bay Barrage and around Penarth Marina.

"This was another example of the generosity that Hugh James and its staff have shown Age Cymru recently."

Hugh James - the largest independent Welsh law firm, has been a keen supporter of Age Cymru since 2009.

During this time Age Cymru has been one of four chosen charities for the year.

The company's staff have collected hundreds of pounds for the charity with events such as quizzes, dress-down and the Nordic walk.

Lisa Morgan, Senior Associate of Hugh James says:

"Hugh James has been working with Age Cymru for the last few months to help raise money for this worthy cause.

"Older people's issues will become increasingly prominent in our society in years to come, due to our ageing population, and Age Cymru represents older people's views and concerns.

"We are happy to help Age Cymru ensure that Wales is adapting to the needs of its future population."
