Get involved in Adult Learners Week 14-22 June

Published on 14 June 2014 08:00 AM

Age Cymru is pleased to support Adult Learners Week 14-22 June.

Shocking statistics from Prime Cymru show that there are 214,000 jobless people between fifty and state pension age in Wales compared to 62,000 younger jobseekers.

With a high proportion of older people not in work, Adult Learners Week offers them the chance to go on training courses, enhancing their chances of getting a job.

Age Cymru's Healthy Ageing Manager Claire Bottomley says;

"We're pleased to support Adult Learners Week - encouraging older people to get involved and learn new skills, helping them get on the job ladder or broaden their employment options.

"Older people have a wealth of experience, skills and knowledge that would be valued by new employers.

"So, learn a new skill, make a career U-turn or find funding for training by joining in Adult Learners Week 14-22 June, and broaden your horizons."

Whether you're dealing with redundancy, getting back into work, eyeing promotion or dreaming of a career change - you can find out more by visiting Adult Learners Week.
