Older People's Comissioner's residential care review

Older People's Commissioner for Wales, Sarah Rochira, has launched her residential care review into the quality of life and care of older people living in residential care in Wales.
She is asking older people across Wales, their friends and families to share their experiences of residential care.
This information will be used alongside a range of other evidence to develop a series of recommendations for residential care providers and public bodies.
Commenting on the Review, John Moore, My Home Life Cymru Programme Manager, who is part of the Residential Care Review Advisory Panel, says:
"We welcome the Older People's Commissioner's review into quality of life in residential care - a subject which is of vital importance to the thousands of older people living in residential homes and their families.
"All older people should feel that they have a voice and have choice and control over their lives whilst living in residential care.
"Having a voice and being listened to will enhance their quality of life.
"Moving into a care home can be a positive experience that can lead to forming and developing close relationships that can enhance the quality of life of all those involved.
"My Home Life Cymru is an Age Cymru programme which promotes good practice in care homes by sharing positive experiences involving residents, staff, relatives and visitors from across Wales.
"The programme strongly believes that a relationship-centred care approach is key to ensuring that older people live rich and fulfilling lives.
"We look forward to contributing to the Commissioner's Review and helping older people in residential care to have their say."
