Sian Lloyd backs our Rainy Day Appeal

Published on 18 July 2012 08:30 AM

TV weather presenter Siân Lloyd is hoping to put a smile back on everyone's faces this summer.

She is teaming up with Age Cymru to urge the Welsh public to cheer themselves up on a wet and miserable summer's day by donating to our Rainy Day Appeal.

Siân explains:

"We're all probably fed up of the weather this summer.

"Many of us will have been stuck indoors over the weekends, instead of enjoying the sunshine and nice warm weather that we're used to this time of year.

"The barbecues will be gathering dust, the summer clothes will still be in our wardrobe and the cap will be on the sun-block bottle.

"We could all do with some cheering up - so why not bring some sunshine into your life this summer by giving a donation to Age Cymru's Rainy Day Appeal?"

Age Cymru's Director of Income Resources, Richard Nicholls, says:

"We're very grateful to Siân for her support with our Rainy Day Appeal.

"This summer has been a washout so far - in fact the Met Office says it's been the wettest June since records began in 1910.

"But everyone knows that giving makes you feel good about yourself, so please dig deep this summer, support the Age Cymru Rainy Day appeal and put a smile back on your face."

You can donate online to the Age Cymru Rainy Day Appeal here, or give £3 by texting ‘SOAK03 £3' to 70070 with all monies coming directly to Age Cymru.

Age Cymru will also be at the Royal Welsh Agricultural Show in Llanelwedd and the National Eisteddfod in the Vale of Glamorgan, so please pop along and make a donation.
