Social care funding announcement

Speaking ahead of an announcement expected today from the UK Government about the future of social care funding, Age Cymru's Director of Influencing and Programme Development Victoria Lloyd comments:
"Decisions about paying for care taken at a Westminster level will obviously have implications for Wales
"Age Cymru is particularly keen to look at the details of the preferred payments proposal and any implications of that for Wales.
"While we have welcomed the Welsh Government's strategy for Sustainable Social Services and have responded to the recent consultation on a Social Services Bill for Wales, paying for care remains a key issue for people across Wales.
"This isn't something that can be kicked into the long grass again - we need action on paying for care now.
"It is widely acknowledged that the existing arrangements for providing care in England and Wales are struggling under increasing pressure and a lack of resources."
