WELSH older people’s charity Age Concern Cymru and Help the Aged in Wales has today (19 April) adopted its new name – Age Cymru.
Age Cymru came into being in April 2009 when Age Concern Cymru joined forces with Help the Aged in Wales.
The new charity works alongside its sister organisations Age UK, Age Scotland and Age NI.
Charity Chief Executive Robert Taylor says:
“Age is changing. We are changing it.
“It made complete sense for Age Concern Cymru and Help the Aged in Wales to join forces.
“We believe that by working together as the merged charity Age Cymru, we can do more than ever to help make life better for people.
“By combining our time and our talents, our services and our solutions, we can make the very most of our resources.
“Age Cymru may be a new name, but we will be building on Age Concern and Help the Aged’s proud history.”
Age Cymru today officially unveiled its new name and logo at a special ‘Question Time’ event at the Wales Millennium Centre in Cardiff.
Older voters were given the chance to throw questions at representatives from Wales’ main political parties ahead of the May 6 general election.
