HRH The Prince of Wales is Patron of Age Cymru

THE PRINCE OF WALES has agreed to become the Patron of Age Cymru.

Age Cymru is the older people’s charity formed in 2009 by the merger of Age Concern Cymru and Help the Aged in Wales.

The Prince of Wales, as Heir to the Throne, seeks, with the support of his wife, The Duchess of Cornwall, to do all he can to use his unique position to make a difference for the better in the United Kingdom and internationally.

He is Patron or President of all of 'The Prince's Charities', a group of 20 not-for-profit organisations 18 of which were founded personally by The Prince. 

He is also President or Patron of a number of other organisations across the UK in which he takes an ongoing personal interest.

Age Cymru’s Chair, Dr Bernadette Fuge,  says:

“Age Cymru is proud and privileged to have the Prince of Wales as its Patron.

“With more than 100 years of shared history of working with and for older people, Age Cymru has a strong heritage of protecting and promoting older people’s rights and wellbeing.

“We are delighted that the Prince of Wales is willing to support our work to ensure that older people are valued and respected members of society.
 
“His Royal Highness’ Patronage of Age Cymru will inspire the charity and its staff as we strive to create a world where older people can flourish.”
