The Cardiff Elderly Chinese Association will be getting top tips today about keeping warm, safe and well during the winter months.
They will be taking part in a Keep Well This Winter seminar at St Mary’s Church in Canton run by the Keep Well This Winter campaign.
Keep Well This Winter is a Welsh Government campaign run by Age Cymru.
Joanne Bass, the Keep Well This Winter Coordinator says:
“Winter can be difficult for older people and it is a time when it is particularly important that they are looking after their health.
“The Keep Well This Winter campaign raises awareness among older people of how to keep warm, safe and well in winter.
“At today’s seminar we will be looking at things such as the importance of having a flu jab, heating and insulation improvements you can make to your home; saving energy; social tariffs for gas and electricity customers and the Winter Fuel Payment.”
The talk will also cover the importance of eating three times a day; keeping a well-stocked store cupboard; preparing your home for winter and how to get a free home fire safety check.
