Seven new organisations have this week pledged their support to the Rule Out Abuse campaign.

Alzheimer’s Society, Carers Wales, Hafan Cymru, Care & Repair Cymru, Age Concern Morgannwg, Vale Housing Federation and Age Concern Cardiff & the Vale or Glamorgan are the latest groups to sign the Rule Out Abuse Charter.

Rhea Stevens, Age Cymru’s Campaigns Coordinator says:

“The support we’re getting for Rule Out Abuse from such well-respected and high-calibre organisations   is very encouraging.

“With an estimated 39,000 older people in Wales suffering abuse in their own homes – and that’s just the tip of the iceberg, that’s 39,000 reasons why this campaign must succeed.

“This is why we still need more people and organisations to sign the Rule Out Abuse charter.

“Together we can persuade the Welsh Government to ‘rule out abuse’ once and for all and introduce a law that ensures public authorities tackle elder abuse with the priority it deserves”
