The Age Cymru Elder Abuse Project was established in July 2006 and is being delivered across the whole of Wales.
The project is funded by Comic Relief and has been designed in response to the need to develop advocacy work in Wales as a means of tackling the abuse of older people and to the need to develop policy and practice relating to this very important issue.
The overall aim of the Age Cymru Elder Abuse Project is ‘To reduce the incidence of abuse and deal with it more effectively when it does occur’.

Delegates were able to participate through panel sessions, round table discussions and workshops as well as having opportunities for networking with like minded people; all with the overarching aim to influence legislation, policy and practice to help effect positive change.
