Age Cymru Swansea Bay | In your local community
01792 648 866
Age Cymru Swansea Bay is a vibrant, independent local charity. We work at the heart of the community to meet the needs of older people.
• We work collaboratively with over 70 partners, including the local health board, the local authority, other voluntary sector partners and the private sector.
• As a local Age Cymru partner we have the support of Age Cymru, giving local people a national voice and ensuring the needs of older people are heard by the Welsh Government and in London through Age UK.
• We have a drop in centre at Sun Alliance House open from 9.30am to 4pm Monday to Friday, offering a range of Age UK products and services including; insurances, stair lifts, walk in baths, funeral plans etc. From 10am to 3pm, our drop in centre is also the base for our volunteer led information and advice triage.
• In addition to this we offer a range of specialist community based services, including support for people who are feeling lonely or isolated, support for people being discharged from hospital, practical assistance with small jobs at home and a shopping, cleaning and meal preparation service.
Age Cymru Swansea Bay sees the person. Whether providing services to people, employing people or recruiting volunteers, we will hear you, understand you and help you manage your independence. Together we can make a difference.
Age Cymru Swansea Bay aims to provide outcome based, quality assured regional services to people aged 50+ to enable them to maintain their independence and safeguard them from abuse.
"2014 sees the Charity celebrating its 40th Anniversary, and as we look back over the last 40 years we can only marvel at the vision and commitment of that small group as they set out the aims of Age Concern West Glamorgan as it was then known to improve the lives of older people in this area. They could not possibly have envisaged what the organisation would have been like in the 21st Century, but I am sure they would have been pleased at the progress that has been made. Their vision is still the same as is ours today."
Phillip Owen: Chairman of Age Cymru Swansea Bay
