  • Around 1,000 technology taster and information events took place across the UK
  • More than 500 organisations got involved by hosted events including, local Age UKs, libraries, colleges, training centres and Housing Associations
  • 10,000 older people in later life got a taste of the range of benefits that digital technologies (such as computers and the internet, mobile phones, digital cameras and more) can offer.

Feedback from event holders

  • "Thanks for the assistance, the resources and for our inclusion in the campaign. It really made a difference to our participants and we love the format!' - Becky, Meopham Library
  • 'Given the success of our event, our group, which is particularly concerned about older people being excluded from an IT driven world; intends to explore the idea of informal, intimate Get to Know IT' sessions on a regular basis.' - Kerry, Lewisham Pensioners Forum
  • 'The itea & biscuits event has proved to be very useful and a fun and friendly way to introuduce people to IT. It has taken out some of the fear of technology away and made older people want to try something new'. - Shabana, Littleborough Library

A big thank you to everyone who hosted events. We could not have done it without you!

Feedback from participants

  • 'Excellent event, good equipment, very friendly, helpful and supportive tutors.' - John, 55
  • 'I feel that it's very important that every possible avenue should be open to older people to keep them up to date with technology and days such as this are a great idea' - Rita, 75
