The Gwanwyn Festival

Gwanwyn is a month long national festival held across Wales every May to celebrate creativity in older age.

The festival celebrates renewal, growth and creativity in older age - hence the name 'Gwanwyn' which means springtime in Welsh.

Gwanwyn offers opportunities for older people to take part in the arts - including painting, photography, music, drama, storytelling, literature, dance or film.

The festival also gives older people a chance to develop a critical voice and to get involved in the artistic and cultural life of communities across Wales.

During May, groups and individuals join together in a wide range of venues and locations across Wales in an explosion of creativity - it is a time for performance, exhibition, workshops, discussions, networking, and, most importantly, fun!
