Age UK have produced a leaflet called "Staying cool in a heatwave", giving tips to keep cool when its very hot. Some of the tips are below:
The Age UK website contains loads of useful information and factsheets covering a wide range of safety topics such as anti-social behaviour, scam awareness, home safety and personal safety.Derbyshire Fire & Rescue Service have Community Fire Champions giving fire safety advice. Their latest newsletter gives lots of tips, this time focussing on using chip pans and candles at home.
Safer Derbyshire have produced a DVD to improve the safety and security of Derbyshire residents. It’s aimed at people who are for British Sign Language (BSL) users or hearing impaired, currently have limited access to community safety information. The video is presented in a number of formats, including graphics, BSL, sub-titles and a 'voice over'. Information includes definitions of crime and anti-social behaviour, contact details for reporting crime and anti-social behaviour and sign posting to help lines and other agencies for further support.
