Age UK Devon is an independent and autonomous charity working across the rural county of Devon. Make a donation and you can help us to make a difference for older people in the county.
How we raise funds
We raise funds from donations, and through legacies, to help us provide services and care for people in later life who are vulnerable, lonely and isolated.
We also fundraise to support people to campaign, to innovate, to change their communities and to change their lives.
Age UK Devon exists to provide life-changing support to people like Mr C. The manager and a volunteer from our Crisis Support service found Mr C living without heating, struggling to cope with household chores and eating a very poor diet.
With our help, Mr C has increased his income by £142.33 per week, has had a full heating system installed and has employed one of our Home Helps to assist with his household chores.
He continues to receive support from our volunteer, who was able to arrange for local parishioners to deliver emergency food supplies when his village was cut off during the cold spell before Christmas 2010.
In the words of Mr C’s daughter, who lives outside of the county: 'My father would not have been able to continue to live in his own home without the help of Age UK Devon.'
