Befriending
Our befriending service provides companionship and social contact to older people who are either living alone in their own home, or who live in care homes but have few or no visitors.
Volunteers are introduced to the older person by a member of staff, and we try to match people with similar interests or outlooks.
Our volunteer befrienders usually visit once a week for an hour or two, to share a chat and perhaps a cup of tea. However, they cannot assist with tasks in the home, personal care, or financial matters.
