About the role

Join Age UK East Sussex as Centre Manager at the Isabel Blackman Centre in Hastings and help create a warm, welcoming place where older people feel connected, active, and supported. This is a chance to lead with purpose, shape a valued community space, and make a visible difference every day.

You will lead day-to-day operations, support staff and volunteers, deliver excellent customer experience, and help ensure the centre is sustainable, inclusive, and rooted in the community it serves.

The Isabel Blackman Centre is an important local space, and we are looking for someone who shares our values of compassion, respect, inclusion, and quality service.

About you

• You are a confident and organised leader with experience in customer-facing services and day-to-day operations.
• You have experience managing a busy venue or service and are commercially aware, with the ability to improve performance and income.
• You lead people well, value inclusion, and understand—or are keen to understand—the needs and strengths of older people and the role community services play in wellbeing.
• You lead people well and can motivate and support staff and volunteers from different backgrounds.
• You understand, or are keen to understand, the needs and strengths of older people and the role community services play in wellbeing.
