Change one thing

What one change would make your area better for people in later life?

Through Change One Thing, Age UK is supporting groups of older people, their families, friends and carers to run local campaigns to improve their neighbourhood.

It’s all about the practical things that can make the difference between being stuck at home and being able to get out and about in the local area:

  • Transport systems to help us get around
  • Pavements which don’t trip us up
  • Streets where we feel safe
  • Places to rest where we want them
  • Clean toilets open when we need them
  • Access to shops, a post office or a bank when we need it

Get involved

Change One Thing is for groups who want to run a campaign. If you need to save a local amenity which is threatened with closure, or just want to make your neighbourhood better for everyone in later life, Age UK can help you to run a local campaign to make change happen.

There will be support from Age UK every step of the way – from prioritising the problem, to identifying the decision-maker and gathering support locally.

If you want to get involved, opens link in new window download our Frequently Asked Questions to find out more, or contact us by emailing campaigns@ageuk.org.uk
