Love Christmas 2014
Taking place on a windy 18 December, Age UK's Love Christmas 2014 carol concert was held in London's iconic St Paul's Cathedral.
A sell-out crowd were entertained by the ever-witty Penny Smith who hosted the evening, and amusing poems about a chaotic school nativity play and the ups and downs of January dieting read by Barbara Windsor and Susanna Reid. In her reading from childhood classic The Wind in the Willows, Victoria Coren-Mitchell even did the voices of the characters.
The 2,000+ attendees were then brought into the Christmas spirit by an uplifting performance by the London Gay Men's Chorus, before being transported by the towering tenor tone of Russell Watson - the evening's headline performer.

You can help us combat loneliness
Christmas is a time for celebration. A time to reconnect with friends and family in an often hectic world. But for those older people spending Christmas alone this year, it can also be a painfully lonely time.
Loneliness is a daily reality for over 1 million older people who regularly go an entire month without speaking to anyone.
At Age UK we want to change this and by attending Love Christmas you can help. The money raised at the concert will enable Age UK to fight loneliness through our vital national and local services.
