Our Trustees

Age UK Hammersmith and Fulham is an independent, local charity governed by its Memorandum and Articles of Association which exists to promote the quality of life of older people in the borough of Hammersmith and Fulham.

We could not fulfil our role without our Board of Trustees, who have ultimate responsibility for the charity, ensuring that it is solvent, well-run, and delivering the charitable outcomes for the benefit of older people for which it has been set up.

Being a trustee is an unpaid but rewarding role, allowing individuals to bring their skills, knowledge and experience to the running of the charity.

Age UK Hammersmith and Fulham has seven trustees and is currently looking to recruit a trustee specifically with experience of marketing and communication.

  • Robin Fawcett – Chair

    Robin has extensive experience in the charity sector.  A chartered accountant, he served as a trustee/treasurer for Fulham Good Neighbours for five years, before joining Age UK Hammersmith and Fulham as a trustee in 2018, subsequently taking on the role of Chair in 2019. He also volunteers at the Hammersmith & Fulham Foodbank, and is Vice-Chair of the Westminster Independent Custody Visiting Panel. 

    Robin is CEO and owner of a long-established West London events agency.

  • Alistair Baxter – Vice Chair

    Alistair was appointed as trustee for Age UK Hammersmith and Fulham in 2016. Having worked as a career banker since 2010, Alistair brings an in-depth understanding of financial issues to this role. He has assisted in the development of Age UK’s vision and associated mission statement, using his experience to further shape the organisation’s future development.

    Alistair believes that by maximising the utility of all donations it is possible to further develop the activities and services which tackle loneliness and isolation amongst older people in the Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham.

  • Emmanuel Asamoah - Treasurer

    Emmanuel joined Age UK Hammersmith and Fulham in 2019. He is a Chartered Accountant with extensive knowledge in Charity and Housing accounting and an MBA in Financial Management. Emmanuel has a passion for figures as well as experience working in the private sector. His desire is to use his experience to contribute to and enhance the lives of older people within Hammersmith and Fulham. Taking on the role of trustee/treasurer is a challenge he is looking forward to embracing.

  • Liz Baran - Trustee

    Liz Baran joined the board of trustees in September 2019. She has a significant track record in the global IT industry, holding business management and HR leadership roles across EMEA, particularly in US Corporates, most recently as VP of HR at McAfee. She brings a breadth of IT business and HR experience to us.

    Liz, now an independent consultant, is Chair of the IT industry HR Directors Forum and an Advisory Board member for the Chairman's Network, a growing network of non-executive directors. She also volunteers as a coach and mentor in various capacities.

    Liz is passionate about using her experience to contribute to a charity that enhances the lives of older people in the community.

  • Seema Odedra - Trustee – Trustee

    Seema is a qualified physiotherapist and is the clinical director of a healthcare group. She has a 10-year history in healthcare, working on implementing health innovation in her current role. She is motivated to create change in the healthcare system, especially regarding musculoskeletal pathways impacting the elderly population.

    Seema is bringing this experience and passion to help Age UK Hammersmith and Fulham to enhance and enrich the lives of the elderly.

  • Alexandra Stainov - Trustee

    Alexandra joined the Board of Trustees in June 2020. After a very successful track record in sales and new business development for international media groups, Alexandra decided in 2013 to transfer her energy and commitment to an environment that is more in line with her life values.

    Alexandra brings to the charity a wealth of experience not just in Fundraising but also in Communications and Marketing. She took in 2021 a six-month break from her role as trustee to set up the charity’s own fundraising department.

    Alexandra’s knowledge, understanding and interest in all matters pertaining to older people find strong roots in her own personal experience as her elderly mother’s sole carer for many years. She is deeply concerned by the issue of loneliness and its impact on the health and wellbeing of older people.

  • James Flitton - Trustee

    James has considerable experience in the technology sector, holding positions in engineering, operations and sales during his 20 years in the sector. He is currently vice president of business operations for a global technology company. He brings this technology and business experience to the charity.

    James is committed to using his experience to enrich the lives of older people in the Hammersmith and Fulham community.

  • Andy Lyons - Trustee

    Andy was appointed as a trustee in 2021, having been a mentor to Age UK Hammersmith and Fulham for the previous 4 years. He actively supports the digital inclusion programme and contributed to the delivery of 30 free devices and wifi during the first phase of COVID lockdowns to help tackle the loneliness and isolation amongst some of the older residents. Andy has nearly 30 years of experience in the financial services sector and is keen to use this experience and commercial relationship-building to help support Age UK Hammersmith and Fulham and enrich the day-to-day lives of elderly residents.
