fit as a fiddle
Fit as a fiddle is making a difference to older people's health and wellbeing. Age UK is working with local partners to offer fit as a fiddle activities around the country.
We have two main fit as a fiddle projects in the West Midlands — Greenagers and Prescription for Health.
Greenagers
Greenagers focuses on gardening and growing produce. Greenagers activities improve fitness and can encourage healthier eating through growing your own produce.
There are two activities within Greenagers — allotments and gardening circles. These activities are offered by 6 local Age Concerns and Age UKs across the West Midlands Region.
Allotments
Allotments, shared with other like-minded people and supported by volunteers, are an opportunity to grow your own fruit and vegetables, share experience and eat healthily in a social environment.

Gardening circles
Gardening circles involve a group of older people, with the help of volunteers, supporting each other to maintain their own gardens. This is an opportunity to share experience, and garden in a social environment.
