This course is aimed at anyone giving information to the public and in particular those who whose work or voluntary
roles routinely involve the giving of information and advice. The course includes:
- consideration of how to identify clients' needs and the extent to which those needs can be met
- assessment of the quality of information available
- identification of key skills required and how to enhance them
- identification of best practice, relevant legislation
- the importance of agreeing timescales with client
- issues of confidentiality and security of client information
- effective signposting
