We offer services in the community designed for the needs of black, asian and minority ethnic (BAME) groups.

Collage by ladies from local communitiesInformation and advice

Age UK Herefordshire & Worcestershire offers information and advice to minority groups through surgeries, outreach, home visits and events. We have staff and volunteers who can provide translation in most languages.

Information and advice is also provided for health and wellbeing through therapies, nutritional advice, exercise, walk groups, activities, trips promoting the National Heritage and social events. Together, these activities offer a holistic approach to health and wellbeing.

Carers are supported and work in partnership with organisations supporting the same objectives.

Supporting BAME communities

Age UK Herefordshire & Worcestershire staff support individuals through

  • Information and support
  • Home visits
  • Referrals to other agencies

We encourage networking and work in partnership with other statutory and voluntary organisations. We promote our organisation through events, fundraising, training and project activities which encourage community participation and promote integration.

We organise, set up and invite members from BAME communities to consultations and forums which help contribute towards important policy changes.

For more information on our work with BAME communities, please contact Sabita Thukral using the details below.
