14 brave fundraisers, aged from 17 years old to 91, have now completed tandem skydives from Sandown Airport and raised over £6,500 so far for Age UK Isle the Wight (Age UKIW).

Joan Livingstone, the oldest skydiver at 91, was the last to jump with a crowd of friends, supporters and other skydivers to cheer her on.  Some pictures from Joan's jump are at the bottom of this page and below is the full video of her skydive!

Joan Livingstone, the oldest skydiver at 91, was the last to jump from over 10,000ft, with a crowd of friends, supporters and other skydivers to cheer her on.

Joan said after her jump:
“It was amazing and I’m so glad to have done it, and I’m so thankful for all of my friends, family and people who have sponsored and supported me from my various clubs and groups.  Everyone has been so lovely and I’ve raised over £1,500 so far.
“I’m really pleased I could do something like this for Age UK Isle of Wight.  They’ve helped me and so many of my friends with lots of different things over the years.  Something as simple as help filling in a form, or doing something around the house, can make such a massive difference as it’s daunting when you’re on your own.”
Elisha Leachman, Fundraising Manager at Age UKIW, said:
“It has been an inspiration to see so many fundraisers take on this massive challenge for Age UKIW.  Our youngest jumper had only just turned 17 when he jumped though to Joan at 91 years old, each of them has been amazing and I want to thank them all for their bravery and support.
“It was a privilege to see Joan become one of the very small group of people over 90 who have taken on a tandem skydive.  She has been enthusiastic, full of laughter, energy and up for the challenge from the first day and is an inspiration to us all.
“The groups’ fundraising has already reached over £6,000 with more to be collected.  People can still sponsor Joan by texting: ‘JLIW91 £3’ to 70070 to donate £3 today or by visiting her online sponsorship page here: http://bit.ly/JoanSkydive.
“As a completely local and independent charity all funds raised stay on the Island to support local older people, every donation makes a real difference.”
