Volunteering lets you contribute your time and skills to our  work. As well as using your existing skills, volunteering is a great way of learning new skills! Here are some of the ways that you can work with us.

Here at Age UK Lambeth our team of volunteers continues to grow and we are so pleased you’re interested in joining us to be a part of some amazing work to support older people.

Trustee of the Board. 

Ever thought of helping a charity by becoming a trustee? We are looking for new trustees who are part of our diverse Lambeth community who would like to use their abilities to help us develop and deliver our services to older people.

Available to volunteer 

Befriender

Visiting an older person in their home, having a cup of tea and a chat, going out together and helping to alleviate loneliness and isolation (DBS required) Must be 18 or over

Available to volunteer- anytime (includes evenings and weekends) 

Tour Guides

Take small groups to places of interest in and around London. This could include museums, galleries, film clubs, theatres (DBS required)  Must be 18 or over

Available to volunteer – dependent on event time 

User Experience Researchers

Phoning customers of all AUKL services to get feedback about their experience. Being a “Happy Shopper” for some AUKL services 

 Available to volunteer - weekdays (9am- 5pm) 

SAIL+ Volunteer

Input client data onto our database and forward referrals to internal and external referral agencies. Cover lunchtime reception, take calls and complete the call log Must be 18 or over

Available to volunteer - weekdays (9am- 5pm) 

Events Listing Volunteer

Support with the creation of our monthly events listing. Research and identify low cost and accessible events for older people

Available to volunteer- anytime (includes evenings and weekends) 

Volunteer Hosts

Support host AUKL events and sessions. Help set up  events, welcome attendees and make them feel comfortable Must be 18 or over

Available to volunteer – dependent on event time 

Handy Person Volunteer

Support the Handyperson Team with “two person jobs”- i.e. lifting and moving furniture. Complete independent DIY tasks such as replacing lightbulbs (DBS check required) Must be 18 or over

Available to volunteer - weekdays (9am- 5pm) 

Community Volunteer

To give older people an opportunity to share their skills, reminisce and to volunteer with Lark Hall Primary School in different ways at Stockwell.

Information and Advice Volunteer

Provide support and advice to older and disabled people across the borough of Lambeth. Volunteering at the advice surgeries and/ or answering advice calls (DBS required)  Must be 18 or over
